Easy SEO for Bloggers E-book Review

It isn’t usually till you’ve been blogging for a while that you hear about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and how SEO for bloggers can increase search engine traffic to your blog.

I remember the first few times I heard it, it took me a while to figure out what it was, then when I knew what it stood for, I still didn’t really understand it. I put off learning about it figuring I had other more important things. Now that I’ve known what it is and how to use it for awhile, I wish I had started sooner.

If you are just hearing of SEO or you have heard some about it but aren’t clear exactly what steps to take and when, you may be interested in the Easy SEO for Bloggers ebook by Steph Calvert of Hearts and Laserbeams.

Twenty bloggers who participated in the January 2013 blogathon twitter parties won a copy of this ebook and I was given one to evaluate.

Easy SEO for Bloggers

While it’s quite short (10 pages) it covers what you need to know in simple terms and if you think about it, wouldn’t you rather get the information you need in a 10 pages than in 100 pages? If you are interested in SEO for your blog, you are probably busy and don’t have time to read a 100 page manual that goes into the nitty gritty of the history of SEO or the intricacies of how search engines use it.

If you just want to know what to do to improve your search engine rankings, this ebook will give it to you straight.

At the beginning of the book, Steph goes over how she improved her traffic using SEO by giving actual blog stats of before and after. I appreciate this because it gives reason to trust what she is saying.

At the front there is also a cheat sheet to be printed out and hung up to remind you of the steps to take for each post.

Beautifully Designed E-Book

I find that many ebooks, especially the free ones but even the paid ones, just aren’t very pretty. I was immensely surprised at the beautiful design of the pages of the ebook. The design wasn’t so overpowering that I was looking at the design instead of the content but was beautiful enough that I was able to read and stay focused without my mind wandering.

Save Research Time

You could learn how to use SEO by doing your own research but there is a LOT out there about SEO, a lot of it over the heads of most bloggers or even if it’s not, it’s way more than you really need to know to get your blog ranking higher.  If you want to skip hours or day of research and wading through technical descriptions and explanations, it only costs $10 for the Easy SEO for Bloggers ebook. I wish I had found this ebook years ago.

Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of the e-book to facilitate my review. Regardless, all opinions are honest.

I've just brought this after reading your post - I'm trying hard to get into SEO and realising I have no idea on it at all. I was a bit concerned with paying £6.50 for a 10 page book but I'm glad I did I've found out things I had no idea of before.

Thank you so much. Sarah Life in a Break Down xx

Hi Kathleen,

This is a great review of Steph's book! I was one of the lucky winners of this book at the Blogathon and I JUST read my copy a few hours ago today!

I must confess, I was a little skeptical when I heard the book was $10 for a 10-page book. But, I've been researching the Internet for quite some time (and getting quite confused) over how to do certain things and I will tell you: Step provides, in clear concise terms, a cogent strategy for implementing SEO into your blog.

Furthermore, she included solutions to some of the very questions I have been struggling with at the moment in terms of how to handle things in re: to my own blog. That plug-in she recommends will help me move forward in designing things just the way I want them to be.

After reading through everything, I cannot wait to print this out and start implementing some of these steps (guess I know what I'll be doing next Blogathon!) This turned out to be an invaluable prize and I too would recommend the book to anyone who is ready to tackle this beast!

Anyway - I also recommend the book and wish I had found it sooner as well!

I'm so glad you found it helpful and that I helped connect you with her great resource. I too was skeptical at first for $10 for 10 pages but it's worth it.
